Joel had an MRI today and it showed GREAT news for us!!! The swelling has gone down considerably and even the tumor has shrunk a bit. The doctor reminded us that the treatment Joel is on is not a cure and will not make the tumor disappear but we were greatly relieved to hear that the treatments were helping. And since the swelling has gone down so much, they are also switching him to a different steroid which may help with some of the other challenges Joel has experienced due to the long term usage of the current steroid.
Joel has been struggling with a couple of kidney stones for the last 3 weeks... we had them surgically removed last week and he is still working on recovering from that.
We feel very blessed with the news today and are all looking forward to a wonderful & enjoyable summer.
